What can I do to protect myself against investment & UK pension scams?

Protecting yourself against scams relating to your investment or pensions is very important.

This is what we recommend when assessing whether a company is a scam:

  • In many jurisdictions cold calling for investments and pensions is banned. Unsolicited calls, texts and emails are often a scam.
  • Take your time to make a decision, and steer clear of limited time offers or deals.
  • Do your research on the company, have they been around a while? Are they officially registered in the country where they operate from or that you are a resident? Google research and read online reviews from “verified” sources. For example, all of Harrison Brook’s reviews are verified by Feefo.
  • Most countries will have a financial services register that you can search on (by name or registration number) for the advisory company. For example, Harrison Brook’s company and licensing information is listed on the footer of our website.
